GENERAL RULES

Exhibition names will be recorded on the exhibition time sheet.  When riders name is called and does not enter the arena, rider will be called three (3) times then dropped to the end if a no show.  The rider can receive an exhibition refund if rider does not complete the run.

Entries will be recorded on the draw sheet by the rider on a first come first pick basis (no draw numbers).  A rider who enters a jackpot then needs to scratch must do so before rider name is called to receive a refund on entry fees.  Once rider name has been called and you do not enter the arena, your name will be called three (3) times before you will be considered a no show and any entry fees paid WILL NOT be returned.

After every fifth rider there will be a drag.

If a rider must make a re-run due to timer failure, any penalties incurred in the first run will not be carried over to the second run.  The rider DOES NOT have the option of riding a different horse on the re-run.  There will be no re-runs for tack failure in any class.

In the event of a tie in a division at the end of the series, the tie will be broken by the amount of money won in the division.  This will determine the Buckle Winner.

If a timer should fail completely or if the jackpot is rained out in the middle of a point jackpot, the winners will receive payout and the remaining non-runners will be reimbursed their entry fee(s) and the jackpot will be considered a non-point jackpot.  The jackpot will then be rescheduled on the next available Rain Date to be determined and communicated by the Series Director.

Any jackpot held at Promise Acres Arena in Sapulpa will have an additional $5.00 per person barn fee.

Only a barrel buckle member can ride a nominated horse for another barrel buckle member for buckle points.

There will be a $3.00 timer charge and a $2.00 per person per jackpot charge.  These charges are included in the entry fee for each class, but will not be figured in the payoffs.

If a stake is lost or pulled up, the pattern will be re-staked using the measurements set by the Series Director.

No horse will be allowed in the arena after the jackpot has started or during a drag.  However, a horse maybe assisted into the alleyway, but not into the arena to start the run.

While in good standing, all members shall have equal rights, interests and responsibilities with respect to the SSRUC and its property.  Shall obey and be bound by all rules of the Series and decisions or actions of the SSRUC Board of Officers.

In all jackpots, points will be given only to members.  Non-members will not be considered.  Points will stay in the payoff day of the jackpot.  Fastest members time in the Open 4D will earn 50 points.  Second fastest members time will earn 49 points, etc.

There will be at least two (2) people keeping time.  Anyone 12 and under will not be allowed to record time in the office or work alone in the arena.

The pattern is made up of three (3) 55-gallon drums.  The contestant will do a cloverleaf pattern around the barrels.  The time will begin when the horse crosses the timer light.  Time will end when the horse completes the pattern and returns across the timer light.  The contestant may start either to the left or to the right.

Knocking over a barrel shall carry a no time.  Disqualification consists of turning a barrel twice or making more than the three turns of the cloverleaf pattern or crossing the finish line prior to completion of run.  Any of these actions will result in a "no time".  In other words, the rider must always be in a forward motion to qualify as a good pattern.

The course must be measured exactly and the pattern will be staked.  The barrels will be set in accordance with the measurements of the arena, but not to exceed 90' x 105’ with a 60’ score line and 25' from the fence.  The starting line should be sufficient to properly start and stop.  The Series Director will have the length of the pattern before the class starts in case a stake is lost.  The Series Director will see that the barrels are properly staked, the timer in the proper place and the ground conditions are safe.

SSRUC Board of Officers will be responsible for taking any grievance.  If possible, the grievance will be taken care of on the spot.  If not, the SSRUC Officers will make a decision at a special meeting.  The meeting will take place no more than five (5) days after the incident and a decision will be made and given to the member.  The member(s) involved has the right to be present at this meeting.

Any member who willfully causes trouble inside or outside the ranks of the SSRUC by excessively complaining, willfully causing disturbances, or unnecessarily aggravating the Officers, judges, or committees.  This includes failure to observe any of the rules.

No member or non-member shall refuse any reasonable request to assist the barrel buckle series, its officers, committees, or sponsors in the proper conduct of the affair of the SSRUC.

After a rule has been questioned by a member and the Series Director makes the decision to abide by the written rule, under NO CIRCUMSTANCE will the SSRUC Directors be verbally threatened or abused in any way.  The Series Director’s decision will be final.  The member has the right to withdraw their membership (any fees that have been paid will not be returned) at anytime.

All disciplinary and conduct falls under the rules of River City Parks and SSRUC.

Insufficient Checks: WILL NOT BE TOLERATEDIf an insufficient check is given, points will not count until the check has cleared or repaid in cash.  Any member who has a check returned to the Jackpot Secretary will be fined $25.00 for the first offense.  Cash will then be accepted from this person, for any fees paid to the SSRUC thereafter, as long as they hold a barrel buckle membership.
